Expositions

The State Arts and Culture Museum of Novgorod Land includes all kinds of fine art: painting, graphics, sculpture, contemporary arts and crafts. In the exhibition halls 2 - 5 expositions and projects are held at the same time.
The Cultural Heritage of the Novgorodian Cloisters exhibition, for the first time ever, combines the history of 25 Novgorodian cloisters at the same area, with preserved and recreated buildings. You will be able to see a unique object – a XIV-century brick with a drawing and the valuable exhibit of Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve – a bronze bas-relief with a portrait of Alexander I. The artistic part of the exhibition includes 39 paintings and graphics from the Museum’s funds. The exhibition presents works by artists whose artistic heritage is the pride of Veliky Novgorod: D.V. Zhuravlev, I.I. Kushnir, G.M. Shtender, S.I. Pustovoitov and others.
Do not miss the opportunity to visit the most unusual museum of Veliky Novgorod – the Porcelain Museum. This exposition is the presentation where the history of Novgorod porcelain and technology are intertwined and multimedia “miracles” are combined with author's installations. The exposition joins the brilliant historical past of Kuznetsov’s porcelain with the Soviet period – production of china-ware with cobalt coating, which became a the hallmark of Novgorod Land masters.
Here you will not only learn the secrets of porcelain production, but your whole family will be able to feel like masters of porcelain painting!
The Museum Cultural Center is a structural subdivision of The State Arts and Culture Museum of Novgorod Land and it is located in the building of the former Travel Palace in Korostyn Village, Shimsky District, Novgorod Region.
The Travel Palace is the only significant object in terms of history and culture located on Veliky Novgorod – Staraya Russa highway.
The main advantage of the Museum Cultural Center is not only the building of the Travel Palace, built in the 19th century for the residence of the imperial persons, itself, but the place of its construction successfully chosen by the architect. The building fits well into the local picturesque landscape, and a nice panoramic view opens from the museum balcony.
Nowadays, there is the permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of the area, to the conclusion of the peace treaty between Veliky Novgorod and Moscow, and to the clay toy of the Novgorod region.
In the halls of the Museum Cultural Center works of artists and photographers are presented, as well as an exclusive model of a unique geological monument - the lake Ilmen clint. With the help of the model, you can see Lake Ilmen in all its beauty as well as learn how this place looked more than 400 million years ago, thanks to copies of the prints of flora and fauna.
