Expositions
More than 200 exhibits of the museum introduce visitors to the era in which the Lithuanian poet Donelaitis lived and worked. They tell about the creative and life path of the Lithuanian. they introduce the works of the founder of the realist movement in lithuanian literature written in 15 languages. the museum's collection is represented by editions of donelaitis ' works, objects of ethnography illustrating the world of the lithuanian village described by the poet in the xviii century.
Part of the design of the building and at the same time its unique exhibit are multi-colored story window stained glass windows depicting the poet and the heroes of his famous poem "Seasons". This is the work of the talented master Garbauskas.
The art collection of the museum is also represented by modern works dedicated to the literary figure: paintings, graphics, sculpture, medallion art. Of particular importance are the objects of archaeology that characterize the life of the inhabitants of East Prussia in the XVIII century.

History
Museum of Kristijonas Donelaitis was opened in 1979 in the village of Chistye Prudy (former Tollington). it was here that the lithuanian poet lived and worked. in this place, the figure spent almost forty years and wrote a huge number of his works, including the world-famous poem "seasons".

1964-restoration of the building of the former lutheran church in the village of chistye prudy. The building is located near the poet's house.
1979 - the reburial of the remains of Christionas Donelaitis in the already restored church, the reconstruction of the poet's appearance by the method of M. M. Gerasimov.

In 1998, the museum complex was replenished. The parsonage was added to it, where the Lithuanian poet spent most of his life. The building is located in a picturesque location. and now there are annual events, primarily related to the work of donelaitis and poetry in general. Poetry days, folk festivals, exhibitions enliven the region and protect the great heritage of the region.
Museum of Kristijonas Donelaitis is included in the "Kaliningrad regional Museum of history and art". And today, the building of the Lutheran church and the parsonage are part of the object.
As part of the international project "Cultural Heritage in the Border Region – for tourism and cooperation", the Museum of Kristionas Donelaitis is closed for restoration today. At the same time, the surrounding area is being improved and the museum is being adapted to new types of museum activities. and very soon the museum will again be ready to receive guests from all over the world.

The name of Kristijonas Donelaitis is included in the world heritage list of UNESCO.
