Museum memorial complex «Pobeda» Museum memorial complex «Pobeda» is a unique three-dimensional panorama dedicated to the military history of the island region, simulators of military equipment and a shooting range, allowing you to feel like a pilot, sniper or tankman.

Expositions

Among permanent exhibitions of the Museum memorial complex «Pobeda» there are three-dimensional interactive panoramas “The battle of Shumshu. The last island of the war” and “The assault of the Khandasa police post”. Immersion in the historical environment allows visitors to independently experience every moment of the victorious battle, to pass through the feelings that the heroes of those bloody battles experienced.

In addition, guests of the complex can visit the exhibition "Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands during the Second World War". Here are unique authentic items of that time. Guests of the museum can see unique authentic objects of that time, learn about the military and political situation on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, about the romantic and at the same time tragic story of the star of Japanese theater and cinema Yoshiki Okada, who decided to escape through Karafuto to the Soviet Union. The exhibition presents interactive models of the border patrol ship "Dzerzhinsky", the islands of Matua and Shumshu. Looking through augmented reality binoculars in the installation "Ghost Deer", you can see how the Soviet and Japanese military used reindeer in swampy terrain.

Exhibition "Sakhalin residents in local conflicts of the XX-XXI centuries" is dedicated to the events in Afghanistan, Chechnya, on Damansky Island, as well as to other military conflicts of the second half of the 20th and early 21st centuries, in which the Sakhalin people took part.
The heroic chapter of Sakhalin and Russian history during the Great Patriotic War is revealed in the exhibitions "Sakhalin on the home front" and "The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".
«The Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905» is an exhibition about little-known facts in the history of the defense of the island. It introduces visitors to the causes and course of military operations at sea and on land, the feat of the cruiser "Novik", allows you to learn more about the semi-submerged boat" Keta", about the fighting in Southern and Northern Sakhalin.

The Hall of Memory is an exhibition designed to preserve the memory of those who fought in the Russian-Japanese and the Great Patriotic War, those who liberated Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands in August 1945, fought in Chechnya, Afghanistan and Syria.

History

The grand opening took place on September 2, 2017. The date is dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in World War II.

Interesting Facts

Unique simulators installed in the museum allow you to get behind the wheel of an armored personnel carrier or to fly a plane and feel like a real mechanic-driver or a pilot-stormtrooper.

The training class with three simulators of the T-90 tank is used for working out the cohesion of the crew game, interaction between team members.

The only interactive shooting complex in the Far East "Vega" with wireless weapons in a playful way teaches shooting from a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a self-loading Dragunov sniper rifle and a Makarov pistol, immersing museum guests in the atmosphere of real combat operations.
