Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery
Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery is the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Second World War, the witness of the panhuman tragedy, and the place of worship. It is the world’s biggest cemetery of Second World War victims. Almost 500.000 people lie there, of which 70.000 are military and 420.000 – civilian population. Since its opening on 9th May 1960, it is the official place to perform military honors to the victims of war.
